Located on the South Bund district of Shanghai, China, beside the Huangpu River, The Waterhouse hotel is in one of the cultural hotspots of the city. It is just 5 minutes from The Bund and Shanghai’s financial district and 45 minutes by car from the Airport.
The original building, dating back to the 1930s, was a warehouse in the historic docks. Only in 2010 it was renovated by the studio Neri&Hu and transformed into a four-story design boutique hotel. The renovation was based on combining old and new and the double-height interiors were restored maintaining the original industrial structure.
The Waterhouse offers 19 guest rooms and suites some with private terraces and some with views of the river and city skyline. The rooms are decorated with Danish furniture and design pieces from important figures like Arne Jacobsen, Finn Juhl, Hans Wegner and Antonio Citterio. On the ground floor of the hotel guests can eat at the Table Nº1, a casual & contemporary restaurant serving fresh seasonal produce and modern European cuisine, or at the Lobby Bar, with light meals and afternoon tea. The Roof Bar @ Waterhouse, located on the rooftop terrace has an amazing view of the city’s skyline and the Huangpu River and serves original cocktails and tapas.
Adjacent to the Waterhouse hotel there is a multi-purpose space with a capacity for up to 800 guests, perfect for a wide range of events, including weddings, fashion shows, meetings and exhibitions.
