On the promenade of Las Arenas, in the south of Valencia (Spain) the Balandret hotel is perfect for a beach holiday or to visit the City of Arts and Science, not far away.
Designed by Carlos Serra, the interiors of the hotel are based on a Mediterranean style using natural tones and light materials. The designer was inspired by the Spanish painter Joaquín Sorolla and the bright sunlight he was capturing on its landscapes. In particular one of the Sorolla’s paintings, the Balandrito, was the reference for the hotel’s name.
The walls of Balandret restaurant are decorated with large vertical sculptures as a tribute to the Valencian culture and one of them recalls a boy playing with his boat as in Sorella’s painting.
The hotel is decorated with elements from the Valencian heritage like tiles, illuminations and baskets from esparto material and white and ocean blue furniture.
The hotel offers 21 rooms (double and suite) with terrace and sea or sidewalk view. The décor is minimal, with sandy color wallpapers, white furnishing and blue linen. Children are welcome and next to the restaurant there is room equipped with different toys and painting material for kids.
